A poetic journey to the origins of the United States. Originally created in 1979 by Françoise de la Perrière, the "Early America" scarf pays tribute to the naive folk art and traditional paper cut-outs of the first American settlers.

The piece we present here is the highly sought-after 1981 special edition. Unlike the first version, this one includes a central medallion depicting "Lady Washington" and "General George Washington". Surrounded by abundant fauna (dogs, bears, blue peacocks and birds) in terracotta and sky-blue tones, the design stands out against a luminous White ground, neatly framed by a beautiful Khaki / Olive Green border. A true page of history printed on silk.

I have a real crush on this particular 1981 edition. The addition of the Washington couple in the centre gives this scarf a commemorative dimension that fascinates collectors. The khaki, white and rust palette is the height of chic and pairs incredibly well with a trench coat, a brown tweed jacket or a cream knit jumper. A timeless classic that tells a fascinating story.
